WE ARE A COMMUNITY SCHOOL

Our school board is dedicated to fostering an environment where every student can achieve academic excellence and personal growth in a safe and supportive setting.

As elected representatives of our community, we are committed to making informed decisions that shape the future of our schools. Our responsibilities include:

  • Policy Development: Crafting and implementing policies that promote high educational standards and equity.
  • Budget Oversight: Ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support student learning and well-being.
  • Superintendent Supervision: Collaborating with and providing oversight for the Superintendent to ensure the district's strategic goals are met.
  • Curriculum and Instruction: Evaluating and approving curricula that meet the diverse needs of our students and prepare them for future success.
  • Facilities Management: Overseeing the maintenance and improvement of school facilities to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents, students, teachers, and community members to foster a collaborative educational community.

As a Community School, we’re excited to offer:

  • Academic Support – tutoring, after-school programs, and mentoring

  • College & Career Readiness – workshops, internships, and job shadowing opportunities

  • Health & Wellness – access to counseling, mental health support, and health services

  • Family Resources – parenting workshops and help navigating community programs

  • Enrichment Programs – arts, sports, clubs, and leadership opportunities

  • Basic Needs Support – food, clothing, housing referrals, and other essential services

Stay Connected to Legacy!

Calling ALL Legacy Families! Your time and talents can make a powerful diference in our students’ lives. You can get involved by helping at a school event, speaking at Career Day, or joining a field trip. Every act of support strengthens our school community and helps students thrive! Learn how you can stay connected with family councils and committees! 

Parent Advisory Committee (PAC): It is a school-wide committment to which all parents belong. Together, we will review certain items and provide input on the school planning of the:

- LCAP

- Data Analysis

- Title Funding (McKinney Vento Act, Foster, Low Income, EL, ETC)
 

English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC): ELAC is an elected group that focuses on the review of development, and monitoring of: 

- English Learner Master Plan

- School Attendance

- Academic Program

- Comprehensive Needs Assessment
 

Community Schools Council (CSC): It is a school-wide council that is open to all parents, students, and community partners to be members of and identify the needs and resources that the community offers in supporting our school community. Together, we coordinate with our partners and advocate for the well-being of our school.

Parent Ambassador Program (PAP): Family leaders who champion our schools, support events, and advocate for students. Through workshops and trainings, they strengthen their voice, leadership, and community impact. If you are interested, please contact jaguas@ednovate.org
